A conversation with Guru Atmakuru, Business Development Manager at b.energy

by Engine Property Group

As a company, we are drawn to dynamic organisations that share our goal of sustainable business practices. Partnerships – like the one we have with b.energy – provide an opportunity for our progressive efforts together to instigate real change within our field and the buildings we manage.

We spoke with b.energy’s Business Development Manager Guru Atmakuru about the benefits a sustainable private utilities network has within multi-tenanted buildings.

It was valuable to hear from Guru on how a key innovator in the utilities market is championing change in sustainable private utilities networks and what the future holds for investors, developers, owners and residents alike.

Committed to making renewable energy more readily available in property developments and in existing properties all over the country, b.energy is at the forefront of implementing environmentally friendly electrical networks within multi-tenanted buildings. b.energy guided our client, Beulah, through the installation of Australia’s largest, most efficient vertical solar photovoltaic system at their Paragon development. The 42kW system comprises 128 panels spanning an impressive 158m2.

b.energy’s Business Development Manager, Guru Atmakuru praises Paragon as a future-focused, sustainably-designed development that deliver results for investors, owners and tenants.

“Paragon outperforms similar developments in terms of embedding and maximising renewables in constrained spatials to abate carbon emissions, to reduce cost and to preserve the environment,” Guru says.

When asked how b.energy continues to service the development, Guru explains that they deliver electricity services as a holistic managed service for all owners and residents at Paragon and provide lifecycle management of all equipment inclusive of the structurally engineered vertical solar photovoltaic system.

This successful execution and management has led Engine Property Group to extend its partnership with b.energy on the buildings jointly managed. As a result, b.energy is also currently working with Engine on 448 Brighton by Sunkin Group, and a large upcoming project called Seddon Square.

In Guru’s own words, “b.energy and Engine are working together to promote sustainability in the multi-tenanted communities that we serve.”

Guru says that investors, developers and owners are increasingly recognising the benefits of renewable energy, and as a result, the swing towards more sustainability focused service providers, like b.energy, is growing in demand.

“Developers and builders that promote renewables in their new and upcoming projects act as a real point of difference,” Guru says.

“At b.energy, we are leading a renewables future and encourage and empower investors, developers and owners to adopt more viable renewable options in multi-tenanted properties,” Guru says.

As for what the future holds, Guru notes that b.energy is keenly observing multiple ways to improve the developments and properties they are involved with.

We are committed to improving accessibility to renewable energy by investing in innovation. Battery energy storage, solar apartments, electric vehicles as a service, and smart home automation are all specific technologies that we are actively implementing across multiple projects already.

We anticipate the demand for sustainable private utilities networks will continue to grow in demand across Australia as we work towards a more secure and renewable energy future.

“We value working with partners like Engine who can see the value in investing in sustainable infrastructure and look forward to working together in the future,” Guru says.
